If I had been born two weeks later:
I would have started school a year later, and been one of the older kids in the class instead of one of the youngest all through school.
I would have gone to a different school for first grade, (Our school district did not have kindergarten till I was in second grade.)
I would have gone to school for 9th grade at the junior high instead of high school as a freshman.
I would have graduated from a different high school than my sister and brother did.
I would probably have never met my high school girlfriend and almost certainly never dated her.
I would never have met the high school friend, who was my roommate for my first two years of college.
I would have sweated getting drafted before my senior year of college, instead of being more relaxed about it having already graduated. Relaxed enough that I spent most of the summer in Europe.
I most likely would have had an instructor for beginning Russian, and so probably would not have:
a) become good friends with the professor who did teach that class.
b) enjoyed it so much I ended up going to grad school in Russian.
c) gone to the Soviet Union when I had the chance.
d) taught Russian to college students
e) applied to the place I went for grad school.
f) met the woman who was my grad school girlfriend.
All because of a matter of days and an arbitrary birthday cut-off for school enrollment.
