Meme Time

From [personal profile] shadowkat

Tattoos: Nope - Hate to say it, but they really look bad on most people and don't get better as time passes.

Surgeries: Just my eyes, which these days with lasers is very minor surgery.

Broken bones: None

Shot a gun: Yes. A few times but not enough to be a good shot.

Quit a job: Yes. (Not counting the one I retired from.)

Flown on a plane: As a passenger, yes. As the pilot, no.

100+ miles in car: Many times driving and as a passenger.

Gone zip lining: No

Watched someone give birth: No (except in a movie, the only thing that passed for practical sex-ed back in the stone age when I was growing up.)

Watched someone dying: No.

Ridden in an ambulance: No

... Canada: Yes

... to Europe: Yes

... to Washington D.C: Nope

... to Florida: No

... to Colorado: Yes

... to Mexico: Yes

... to Las Vegas: Yes, the first time back in the days when most of the casinos were beside the street and you could see people playing the slots literally at the open doors next to the sidewalk.

Sang karaoke: No

Had a pet: Yes, several including the little guy scratching the door post to get my attention, right now.

Been downhill skiing: No, the first time I applied to graduate schools, I wanted a place where I could learn to ski nearby. Nearly getting drafted into the army killed that. When I applied in Russian I had to go where the schools were, which mostly ended any thought of learning to ski.

Gone snowboarding: No

Ability to read music: Yes, well enough to play a few instruments. Not well enough to be able to sing just from sheet music.

Rode a motorcycle: Yes

Rode a horse: Yes

Stayed in a hospital: Not since I was born.

Ride in police car: No, but I sat in the back seat once, while the cop was getting a statement from me.

Driven a boat: Yes, a power boat. Wish I'd sailed as well.

Seen a UFO: Yes, but I IDed it within a couple of minutes. It was a helicopter hovering near a hospital. The wind was blowing so that no sound carried to me, though it wasn't more than a couple hundred yards away. The lights both on it and reflected back onto it from the nearby buildings made it look very other worldly. Very spooky looking even when I knew what it was.

Been on a cruise: Ocean cruise, no. Hours-long river boat cruise, yes.

Run out of gas: No, but I think maybe my mother did once when I was was very small and in the car. If I remember correctly, she sent my sister to the gas station, which wasn't far at all, with a few dollars and someone from the station (they were all full-serve in those days) carried the gas can to the car and got us going again.

Eat sushi: No thank you.

Seen a ghost: No. But creaking old houses can understandably get people's imaginations stirred.
