Well, I think I've finally found a show I like.

"Desperate Housewives" is really fun. It has humor, mystery, and looks like its going to have a continuing plot. It's better than the promos made it out to be. I think the people who've said they like "Lost" would like this one as well.

Since the first episode is going to be shown again next Saturday I'll cut for...spoilers.
Inviso text below in case someone wants to comment and not be spoiled. Highlite with your cursor to read. (I always wanted to try this!)
One woman blows her brains out. Another is cheating on her husband who doesn't seem to care as long as the grass is cut. Another has had about enough of motherhood. One woman is so perfect she drives her family bats. The sixth woman accidentally burns down the house of her rival for the single guy on the block. That's an awful lot going on for something I wouldn't call an insane comedy!

Thankfully the baseball season is finally over. The Diamondbacks were awful, but not epically awful. [livejournal.com profile] soulfulspike80's favorite ex-D'back won the key game for the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend. I don't know if she'll be happy or sad, but I thought it was kind of fun.

Haha. I was in my 20s and babysitting for those in their 30's when 30something started on TV. Those women wanted to watch that show because it reflected their life. I am almost afraid to watch this one "Desperate Housewives" for the same reason lol. I missed it last night but hopefully will catch it this weekend. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks, maybe I'll give that a try this weekend. I don't think I even knew it was on.

Further to our previous exchange, a thought occurred to me in the middle of the night: do you think the English (and Canadians) call horse chestnuts "conkers" because in the game of that name, the biggest one "conquers" the others?

Or do I just need to get a life, lol?

;o)

I taped it and am going to watch it tonight. I like "Lost" so I'm hoping you're right. I also saw the first episode of Clubhouse, which I really liked, too.

Speaking of,

Thankfully the baseball season is finally over. The Diamondbacks were awful, but not epically awful. soulfulspike80's favorite ex-D'back won the key game for the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend. I don't know if she'll be happy or sad, but I thought it was kind of fun.

Yes, a big sigh of relief that the season is over. But at least our boys went out on a 2 game winning streak. ;-) And I was at both games - it was a lot of fun (not to mention half price concessions and merchandise - boy, did I buy some things!).

My Fins, I love him so! And we're never, ever going to get him back now (serious sobbing over here). I was at BOB when it happened - watching the Dbacks batting practice and they had the Dodger game on the Jumbotron so everyone saw the grand slam and everyone cheered. Do you know how weird it was to be at BOB watching with the Dbacks as Fins got the grand slam to clinch it for the Dodgers? Surreal.

Happy belated birthday, CW. We still have to plan a get together. I just got back from Maui Thursday. Had a great time (although I got a cold the second day there). Best time of year to go - no crowds and lots of sales. :-) I went snorkeling and jet-skiing for the first time. Went to a luau, did a dinner cruise, survived the Road to Hana, and did lots and lots of shopping. Oh, and got knocked under by a wave (right on the beach) so now my brand new (3 weeks old) prescription sunglasses are sitting somewhere at the bottom of the Pacific. Good thing it happened at the end of the trip and not the beginning.

You know I had a feeling you'd probably be at that game Saturday, what with Randy pitching. I kind of hoped you'd seen Finley's home run before you left for the game, but seeing it at the park must have been amazing. I started watching about the top of the eighth. When the bottom of ninth started I thought, gee, it would be nice if Finley would get to bat. Well, the first thing I thought when I realized how hard he'd hit it was, I guess his salary for next year just went up about a million dollars!

I'll e-mail you in the morning, hope we can get together soon. We can talk about the future of the Diamondbacks if nothing else!
