Nice Afternoon

I just got back from a very pleasant lunch with [livejournal.com profile] soulfulspike80. I got jealous looking at all the beautiful pictures she took in Hawaii late last month. We seem to be watching different things this fall, but we agree that "Desparate Housewives" is pretty good. Cheryl gave me a book recommendation for the vampire novels of Laurell K. Hamilton. I bought one before we parted company and intend to read it after I'm finished here.

Thanks, Cheryl. I enjoyed it.

The weather is not bad. In the 90's here is like in the the 80's most places. It's supposed to turn cooler this week. A big problem with Phoenix is that there is sometimes only about a week between the time you can turn the AC off for the year and when you need a little heat in the morning.

Which LKH did you buy? The earlier ones are more plot-driven, the later ones are more, erm, smut-driven. I love her books to bits, though.

Guilty Pleasures. I think it's supposed to be the first one.

Yup, it's the first one. Let us know how you liked it. Or not, that's okay too. ;)

Thanks, Cheryl. I enjoyed it.

So did I, CW. And I now have a spring training game to look forward to. :-) We didn't talk about the Dodgers, though. Did you know Finley hit in 2 runs last night? Shawn Green had 2 home runs. They shut out the Cardinals 4-0. It's the first time the Dodgers have won a post season game in like forever.

LadyS is right about how the LKH books develop, but I still think they're great. She created a universe that I think works. But it might not be for everyone.

ttyl, Cheryl

Since I'm from St. Louis I can't root for the Dodgers any more, at least till they'd get to the world series. Anybody but the Yankees or the Red Sox!!!!

Hee! I'm guessing that coming to Phoenix and getting the two of you to finally meet was a good thing.

I wouldn't deny it. Cheryl is very charitable to agree to have lunch with an old, bald, fat guy like me every few months.

Don't sell yourself short! We always have a good time chatting, eating, and shopping when we get together.

Hey, congrats on your St. Louis Cardinals. It was a painful game to watch (for me, anyway ), but they've been the better team all year so not too surprising.
