Not Going Boldly Enough.
Back in the 1980s when diskette sizes were still measured in Ks, I wrote in my novel about a wonderful device in the far distant future that would allow one to read books on a nice sized screen with full print-quality graphics and all. It was mostly because I figured it would become far too expensive to print on paper. At least for text books the cost is getting there already. In the fall Arizona State University is trying out an e-books system which sounds similar except the 'readers' themselves will handle the same amount of books I thought you'd be able to keep in a nice little case on the shelf somewhere. Well, at least my 'readers' were intended to be much cheaper. That'll take a couple more years at least! ;o)
