I'm stumbling around this morning wearing a very old pair of glasses. I was very tired last night and went to bed early without removing my contacts (the kind you are not supposed to leave in). I woke up about 2:00 this morning and while I was stumbling around in the dark I happened to notice my contact lens case wasn't closed. I flip on the light and see the case is empty and have a mild panic before realizing I'm seeing it all too well. No problem. I take them out to soak, finish in the bathroom and go back to bed. Since I've had minor problems of various sorts with contacts I'm letting them soak for 8 hours till I put them back in. So till 10:30 or so, I'll be blundering around with everything blurry this morning. I wish I had a newer pair of glasses for times like this, but they are expensive.

Thanksgiving went well. My appetite didn't go wild and there have been plenty of tasty left-overs to pick at. True fact - a half slice of coconut cream pie and a half slice of pumpkin pie are a good combination on one plate. True fact - some durian flavor cookies are as offensive smelling as the fruit they come from.

I'm so used to not wearing my glasses around the house (don't need them for reading etc.) that the other day I left, walked down the stairs and realized that the door was fuzzy..I forgot my glasses.
some durian flavor cookies are as offensive smelling as the fruit they come from. I would never have thought of a cookie made from durian. My one experience with that fruit was not the most pleasant olfactory sensation!

The Asian supermarket near me has the whole durian fruit, canned durian and as I discovered yesterday, the cookies. I tried the canned once. It was mostly de-scented and bland. I tried the cookies (with durian flavor cream filling) yesterday - mostly stinky, but okay tasting. I'll leave the fresh fruit to braver souls than me.

Alas, I can't read the computer screen without some eye-help, anymore.

I'm more or less the same way, needing the bottom half of my bifocals only for small print (I've been nearsighted since childhood but don't need to see far at home), & every once in a while I leave home without 'em. A couple of weeks ago I even did it twice in the same day!

I've been putting off getting examined for a new prescription (also for monetary reasons, CW), finally got a referral, & when I called, the 1st app't. available wasn't till March. Guess I'll keep the current ones a few more months at the least.
