I was very lucky last night. I was preparing for bed. The power went off seconds after I got my contacts out and put away instead of in the middle of removing them. I suppose someone hit a power pole. The lights went out and then I heard a big bang outside when the transformer blew somewhere in the neighborhood. I went to bed, but didn't get to sleep before the refrigerator announced about an hour later that the power was back on.
I watched Grimm, last night. I thought it was superior to Once Upon a Time. But like a few of David Greenwalt's other recent shows, I think it was more interesting than good and may not last long. The hero is a (very handsome) detective working on a murder case, when he starts seeing the faces of some people distort into those of monsters. The aunt that raised him suddenly shows up in town and informs him that he's a Grimm, a secret monster fighter ala a Slayer, except he doesn't get any super powers other than to see who is a monster some times. First lesson he has to learn is that not all monsters are bad. Then he goes out and solves the case of Big Bad Wolf attacking Red Riding Hoods. Unlike Once Upon a Time, it's not high soap opera, it does have some genuine scary parts and some humor, too.
I'll probably keep watching only because it comes on after Nikita and the TV will already be on.
