Movies that I actually paid to see and now want those hours back

I'm pretty picky about what I pay for, but here are a few from over the years

American Beauty
Hurry Sundown. (I may have seen this free, but I still think I'm owed a monetary refund.)
Heaven's Gate.
You're a Big Boy Now
Once upon a Time in America
Star Trek, The Movie. Fortunately, the others were better.

American Beauty is one of my favorite movies. I haven't seen any of the others, so I can't comment.

Star Trek, The Movie

I always consider it a bad sign when only a few minutes into a movie I'm checking my watch to see how long we've been looking at the outside of a model ship. And wondering if they're going to just keep flying around it, or are they going inside at some point.

It has also corrupted my ability to read "Star Trek: Voyager" as anything but "Star Trek: Vee-ger" in my mind.

I agree with all of that. It even got boring watching them fly endlessly down the Vee-ger model. Considering the shock of the opening of the original Star Wars, it was a pretty sad piece of direction and film editing.

Since Vee-ger was indeed a corruption of that other Voyager, it's easy to make that connection.
