AtS music CD

[livejournal.com profile] soulfulspike80 helped me find a copy of the newly released Angel CD. It's a far different kettle of fish than the Buffy CD of years past. The main title is done up and expanded in Rock-style ala Buffy, but most of the cuts are a lot more Shostakovich/Prokofiev-style classical music than rock.

My favorite quote from the liner notes is:

If Rob Kral had written some happy Polka music now and then, I think we would have seen a whole different side to Angel.

Personally I like the CD, and it has CK singing so Cheryl got her money's worth. What do others think?

I really like it. I rather like the overall more classical feel, but yeah, Angel needed more polka music. And CK and AH both have great songs on it.

I just bought it this afternoon. It's playing as I type, and so far I like it - as you say it has a much more classical feel, which is fine by me.
Also bought the Buffy Radio Sunnydale CD.

Of course, the main reason I bought the CD was to have Christian Kane singing LA Song (even though I have two different music videos of it and the song alone already on my computer) and Kim Richey's A Place Called Home (even though I have that one on Rhapsody) But I have to say I really, really love the remix of the theme song. I also love the music from Home and Farewell Cordelia. And Andy's songs, too. I was very pleasantly surprised that there were so many tracks on it that I like.
