I had a fun dream this morning just before I woke up. We E Scoobies were helping the gang solve a mystery and succceeded in foiling the bad guys. I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] ladystarlightsj's recent test was what set it off. Buffy was still in high school. Our younger E Scoobies, like TCH and Scroll were underclassmen at Sunnydale. People in the middle were seniors with Buffy and the gang. We older folks were all university students.

We were all very pleased with ourselves, and went to the Sunnydale High cafeteria to celebrate, since most of you were supposed to be in school that day. It was a celebration after all. So we wanted something worthy to drink with our cafeteria food. Naturally Fresne, Masq, Ann and Jane wanted red wine. But the rest of us quickly convinced them that would get us caught instantly. D'Herblay, Aquitaine, Scroll and Willow, quickly came up with a powerful cocktail, that matched the pink fruit punch which was one of the choices for the other students. It was very tasty, satisfying after all our efforts to save mankind and fun because we were getting away with it.

Eventually there was a second round. They ran out of the pink stuff by the time the seconds got to me, so Willow filled up my glass with a cocktail that was weaker than the first, but which looked to me like what it was - whisky mixed with something yellow. Giles came up and was very disturbed that he'd heard a rumor we were drinking in school! Since my glass looked different from the ones around he picked it up and took a good swallow. I wasn't afraid because this batch was weaker, and it occurred to me that Giles, a hard drinker in his own right, might not be able to taste the liquor in it, and that's what happened.

The dream rolled on in other directions, but later it came back to a few of us talking to Giles about what had happened. It was years later and everyone was out of high school. We told Giles about the celebration. He was more unhappy than mad that we hadn't told him the truth at the time. We said to him that we always intended to tell him once it no longer mattered that we'd been drinking in school.
