From my newspaper's web home page.

Total Lunar Eclipse Expected Saturday.

Expected? If none occurs that would be real news. Maybe the paper doesn't trust those rascally scientists? What's the point of "expected" except for fill verbiage? Why do you need fill on a web page that changes every few hours?

maybe someone who alliterates and is stuck typesetting headers in a newspaper. ;)

Are you in a position to take photos by any chance? And interested? I mean interested had I not mentioned? We're cityscape here.

I doubt my camera work. I'm not even sure it will be total on this side of the country, since it will be total at moonrise on the East coast. If it's not cloudy you should be able to see it even in the city. A big, full, dim, orange moon.

(nod) I'll go google. The moons have been early here, which works. (I don't stay up late.)

Dad was into astronomy. He still is. We never watched anywhere close to the city. I've even got darkout shades on my windows. :)

I didn't even hear about this ahead of time. I was walking to a Purim service in my neighborhood (note to angeyja: in upper Manhattan, so definitely cityscape!) & saw the moon maybe 30 degrees up. I wondered why it was such a small crescent. (Purim always falls at the full moon.) When I got back home I heard about the eclipse on the radio--that explains it!
