On the check from a business that I took to the bank yesterday, the amount was proceeded by the word 'Exactly.' Now most everyone one assumes that's how the bank will interpret the amount you put on the check, but it's nice to feel secure I suppose. I prefer 'exactly' in that context over 'vaguely' or 'approximately.' But I would certainly accept a check which read 'greater than or equal to.'

The ice cream wagon in the nearby, mostly Hispanic, neighborhood naturally plays "Waltzing Matilda" to attract the kids.

I noticed my produce store has blueberry flavored dried cranberries. How do you get cranberries to taste like something as mild as blueberries?

My newspaper has a local section. Sometimes the headlines in it are very strange. One headline yesterday read: Mining Trucks May Quack Like Ducks. It wasn't a misprint or a joke.

A group of ladies from around the globe having a home-made lunch at a friend's place. What a beautiful picture it made.

Hehee, life is strange and weirdly wonderful.

Mining Trucks May Quack Like Ducks. It wasn't a misprint or a joke. LOL. Now I'm invisioning a whole row of little ducklings waddling behind a big truck.

The neighbors near a quarry are complaining about the backup alarms on all the trucks backing to pick up loads. The company thought that maybe a different sound might alert nearby workers without disturbing the neighbors. The quack of ducks was one suggestions!

Oh, this was lovely. One of my favourite posts of all time!

Making that headline even better: the fact that it rhymes!
