Neighborhood at the end of the rainbow

When they tell you on TV here in Phoenix that it hard rained all over the area during a particular storm this time of year, chances are it didn't. Yesterday afternoon it rained hard south of me. It rained hard over toward the east and the Land-o'-Masq. But I got 15 minutes of sprinkles which never got the ground wet (Here sprinkles evaporate as fast as they fall.). North and west of me they got nothing for many miles.

But this morning, rain in the west did produce this nice piece of a rainbow.


A belated happy birthday on Sunday to Rufus. Hope it was a good one.

Micro-climates, dude. We had them in SF with much less square mileage.

We got splotted on yesterday evening. Big raindrops that go splot, splot, splot. The sky was dark and complicated. It was humid.

I love the big drops. With my tile roof I can't tell it's raining when it's raining gently. The big drops make a nice clang on the chimney and vent covers. I look up and think what's that noise. "Oh, yes! It's raining!"

I had a good one. I scored some DVD's...the Serenity Collectors edition, the Dexter season one, and Heroes season one all preordered of course.
