A word to the wise

Last night I had a very annoying experience. Every week or so I get a call for someone named Yovanni. Last night, I figured out why. The turkey, who must live in the area, has given out a cell phone number not mentioning to his friends it's not a local number and they have to dial one first to reach him. The first seven digits are the same as my phone number. Last night a woman called and I managed to ask her what number she was calling, but it didn't not occur to me before she hung up what she was doing wrong. She kept calling over and over and hanging up as soon as I answered. She would not stay on the line long enough for me to explain what she needed to do. I eventually had to unplug the phone because she wouldn't stop calling!

ETA She called four times this morning. In a classic case of approach-avoidance she heard the solution in bits and pieces. I managed to say enough before she hung up the third time, that she did listen long enough the fourth to learn the magic key to getting out of her task of Sisyphus before she hung up again. At no point did this woman say a word this morning, but the background noise gave away her identity as the caller from last night. Hallelujah, she hasn't called since!
