Describe your first Harry Potter experience.
I'd heard of the early Harry Potter books, and was curious about them, but hadn't taken the plunge because they were considered for children. I was in the process of moving to Phoenix (hadn't found my house yet) and was staying at my sister's old house in Glendale. She had them for her grandkids to read when they visited. She suggested they were good and I should read them. I think she had the first three and the fourth book was either just out or soon to be. I really enjoyed the first one, from start to finish. The second one was fine. Not as good as the first but fine. The Prisoner of Azkaban was the first one that I had problems with. For example, I found the 'exciting' section where everyone is following each other into the place under the Whomping Willow, oddly a bit dull and a bit too obvious. But, as soon as Harry reached the side of lake where he'd soon see "his father' and the patronus it was very good again. I liked the book better than the 2nd over all. When the paperback of Goblet of Fire came out, I read it. Suddenly it wasn't just a kid's story any more and I have looked forward to each of the volumes since.
