For all its faults, Phoenix's version of suburbia is pretty nice. I don't go to the closest supermarket because the prices are too high, but the next closest is less than a mile away. Most major intersections have drug stores. The mall is close, a big movie theater and many nice restaurants are closer. Fast food is, of course, even closer.

This morning I bought some baseball Spring Training tickets. The tickets for our little stadium went on sale on Saturday. If you go the first day you have to wait in a big line, forever. This morning I went right up to the window, and got spectacular tickets for the second year in a row. The park is literally on the way to the mall, and closer than the bank I mostly use. It's easy to have lunch someplace first, get to the park for the game and get home in plenty of time for dinner. I couldn't afford tickets as good to a regular season game downtown, and I'm not *that* much of a fan anyway. The brochure from the park telling about ticket sales had an ad for the nearby live theater. There is actually another live theater closer to me, closer than the movie theater!
