We're in the middle of the rainiest week in ages here. We've set a couple of daily records for rainfall this week. The airport where the official numbers are measured seems to get less rain than any other place in town. But it's clear that by tomorrow morning we will have gotten about as much rain this week as we did all last year.
The biggest of the storms came through yesterday. There was talk of a tornado northeast of where Soulful Spike lives, but that's doubtful. I didn't even get much wind last night. I stayed up late watching a movie to wait to put my garbage can out on the curb after the worst was over. But the high winds other parts of town got, mostly missed me, blocked by the mountains due west of me. There was standing water in my backyard all yesterday from the constant rain. But it's all gone this morning, which make me happy.
Believe me I don't miss soggy weather. I always felt crummy in the spring, the wettest season back in the Midwest. Not feeling too great this morning because of all the dampness.
