I'm #473,480! I'm #473,480! (Out of about 4.7 million entries). Top 10%, but that's not saying much. A couple fewer correct picks and I'd be right in the middle.

I did much better than I expected yesterday, 13 of 16. But the first Saturday last year was a disaster for me.

Worst picks so far:
Richmond over St. Mary's. I would have picked St. Mary's over any other 7th seed, but foolishly thought Richmond, who'd be just as enthusiastic about being in the tournament, could handle them.
Louisville over Cal. I admit I was very down on the Pac-10 teams. But Louisville was just awful.
Utah St. over Texas A&M. I correctly thought Oklahoma St. and Texas were overrated a few levels in the Tournament, but Utah St. was more overrated than A&M might have been. The last two perfect scores in ESPN's bracket challenge also blew this pick after being about 27-0. [Both those brackets looked doomed in the later rounds anyway. Obviously a case of a couple out of millions of 'monkeys' at the keyboard getting close to Shakespeare. ;o) ]
from the center of the country, was Kansas losing to Northern Iowa. So many people apparently had picked Kansas that although I lost two out of the [most recent] three picks (including KU) I went way up in the over all standings and now rate at 97.3% meaning only 2.7% of the 4.7 million entries have more points than I do at the moment. I can't stay that high with my #1 team gone, but at least I know I was not alone.

PS. Very good to see you today, Masq!
