Graceful like a cat

Sirius is hiding under the bed this morning, something he rarely does. It all started when he was lying on a table, peacefully looking out the back window. I walked over beside him and looked out to see if he was watching a bird. I sometimes wear an old, ill-fitting pair of glasses in the morning instead of my contacts. Being Mr Graceful, I was moving my head around and the glasses fell off next to the cat. Sirius took off and knocked over a potted cactus on his way. Now, usually, when things mysteriously fall off tables he's been on, Sirius gets growled at. But this time I tried talking in soothing tones - "It's not your fault, Kitty," etc. He warily watched me brush most of it up. But then the vacuum sweeper came out and Sirius was ready to flee the country. Anyway the plant is safely repotted, the floor is sort of clean, and the cat is still under the bed cowering.

Changing gears, it's the time everyone has been anxiously awaiting. There's that wedding thing over in Britain and the NFL Draft! Can't say I'm too excited about either, certainly won't waste any waking time or sleep watching either. But I'll send good wishes to everyone involved, anyway.
