Ever have those moments when life seems great? I was at a Mexican restaurant yesterday for lunch and really felt good for no particular reason. I started thinking about the good things about living where I do, and getting into the canned mariachi music. It was a local chain restaurant, Macayo's. The food isn't super, but it is consistently quite good; not spicy hot, which I do also like, but very flavorful. I got to thinking how sad it would be to not like fresh or blanched tomatoes (one of my cousin's didn't when he was a kid). You wouldn't like salsa or pico de gallo. Then I was thinking about being lucky to have so many good restaurants to choose from in my little area, something that wasn't true back where I used to live when I was working. So there I was, like a little kid, smiling for no apparent reason, bobbing along to the music, shoveling it in and having a great time.

I did have a minor problem yesterday. I strained a calf muscle in bed yesterday morning. Back when I was young, the rage was isometric exercise. It is good if you do it gently. But I sometimes stretch too hard without trying while I'm sleepy and end up with a cramp. Yesterday I stopped quickly enough to avoid the cramp, but I my calf was really sore yesterday afternoon and evening. Those of you who remember the early days of Gunsmoke can imagine me limping around calling out, "Mr Dillon! Mr Dillon!"

With Mitt Romney looking more like the Republican candidate for President this year, it will not be surprising if there is at least some focus on his LDS religion. This morning there is this headline on my local newspaper's website - Survey: Momorns say (their) religion misunderstood. - Misspelled too, apparently. Seriously, I do expect the Mormon religion to come under scrutiny during the fall campaign. I don't think Romney has much chance against Obama anyway , but the Christian conservatives may have problems voting for him if it becomes much of an issue.
