I've seen the 'Hero Cat Saves Boy' on two different news outlets today. It's a fake. If you want to see it you can easily find it on Youtube. I don't want it to get more views than necessary.
Problems with the video:
Three different fixed camera angles. Who has three different cameras routinely focused on their driveway?
Cat bashes into dog head first. Not claws first, not teeth first, head first. This is an exuberant greeting not an attack. The cat knows the dog and has played with it before.
Mom rushes up to look at the boy. The dog is already gone. Mom looks the boy over and quickly turns away from him to look for the dog. She doesn't grab the kid up which would indicate the boy was hurt, or that she was concerned the dog might attack again immediately.
The boy gets up and trots toward mom. No evidence of pain or even concern for his leg. No sign in the video of any damage to his leg.
Trailer shows a closeup of two nasty parallel slice wounds. No evidence of tooth marks anywhere. No evidence that the wounds are in any way connected to the boy.

It may be a naughty dog playing too rough, but no one was actually hurt in capturing this video.
