I don't drive a lot, and I don't buy gas very often. So it was with pleasant surprise today that I saw that gasoline was less than $2 a gallon (approx. 50 cents per liter), as has been reported in other parts of the country. Maybe I'm crazy but it seemed like I was paying $3.50 just this summer. Much of Arizona is beastly in the summer, so our population goes up in the winter from snowbirds, as we call them, flocking in from farther north including Canada and Alaska. It's busy season and there's cheap gas. Can't beat it.
I had what seemed like a simple Christmas dinner; ham, mashed potatoes, zucchini, bread, cider. I often eat a helping or two of salad before dinner. Not last night. But after dinner it felt like I'd eaten half a turkey. I guess it's good that I don't want to stuff myself as much as I used to. But it's hard for me to judge feast proportions. ;o)
