1. I've never been to a Chinese restaurant that used that particular style of take out container, and even if I did, the container left folded is better saved for a refrigerator container for the inevitable leftovers.

2. Um, the paper towel trick would only work best if you kept wet paper towels in the fridge all the time, otherwise it's just extra stuff the fridge has to cool down. Although the soda in the vid, IBC Root Beer (a local treat in my childhood) still comes in glass bottles, modern plastic bottles cool faster, saving energy. ETA: I guess they were counting on evaporative cooling. But modern fridges don't dry things out the way the ones from decades ago did, and thus wouldn't do this as effectively.
