We got record rainfall for the date today in Phoenix .07 of an inch (1.75mm) so far. Not much, obviously. The fact is that there has never previously been measurable rainfall on June 5 in Phoenix before today.

The official weather station is at the airport which seems to be a dry spot in town. So, many places around the area including my little corner probably got considerably more. But rain is tricky here in the desert. Look quick before it's gone. I walked to the mailbox just after a brief squall. It was sprinkling and there was a shallow puddle on the sidewalk near my house. The thing about the desert is that you can stand out in a sprinkle and not got wet. It sprinkled the whole walk (about an 1/8 of a mile, somewhat more than 200 meters) there and back. I was perfectly dry the whole way except for one good drop that hit my cheek, and on my return the puddle was nearly evaporated from the sidewalk. It was still sprinkling when I got in the house again. Fortunately, the world here is not all pavement, so some of the continuing rain does get down into the ground and help the plants.
