Something I learned today: Don't depend on store personnel to be your calendar. I walked into the grocery store today and was greeted with a giant sign reading 25 days till Christmas. Last time I noticed they hadn't changed Christmas to the 26th this year.
Something I was reminded of: If you need to repair something that's hard to get to, you will never have the all materials needed for the repair till you've opened it up once and learned what you thought was wrong was only partially correct. I dug a hole in the front lawn this morning to fix a leak in my drip watering system, and naturally discovered the problem wasn't what I thought it was. I need to let the line dry off for a day or two and get some different material to fix it. Since I didn't want someone to trip in hole and sue me, I had to bury it all again for today. Except for knowledge a total waste of effort.
What I should have known: My Sirius is an indoor cat. He's not allowed outside or usually even in the garage. Last week I made the mistake of purposely letting him scoot into the garage once. I was with him the whole time. He was scared to death. He immediately dashed under the car, then made a break for the far corner near the garage door. He sniffed once then dove back under the car, followed moments later by scooting back to the door into the house begging to be let in again. Since then, he noticed that he survived the adventure and now he keeps begging to be let in the garage again. Ain't gonna happen any time soon.
