1. Have you ever driven an electric car? No. But decades ago I was almost run over by an electric cart at the zoo. Those things are spooky quiet.

2. Do you live in an area that is prone to tornadoes? Not any more. I used to, and when the sky would turn green it would get pretty scary.

3. How many closets does your house have? Lots including a huge one in my master bedroom.

4. When was the last time you saw someone you went to high school with? Maybe thirty years ago?

5. Have you ever eaten moussaka? No. I'm not a big fan of eggplant.

6. What breed was the last dog you saw? A chihuahua.

7. How long have your parents been together / How long were your parents together? They were married about 35 years.

8. What has been your most epic cooking failure? My mother burned things so often I'm pretty careful not to. I would guess my biggest disaster was accidentally doubling the amount of sugar in an apple pie. It looked fine but it was inedible.

9. Do you read other people's responses to question sets like these? Yes.

10. What's your bedtime routine? If it weren't for the cat, I'd just crawl into bed. But he doesn't like me sleeping when he's awake. I humor him once a night. He jumps on the bed, and depending on his preference meows in my face or pats me on the back. I get up and we go together to his food dish where I pet him and he eats a little kibble. I go back to bed. He usually jumps back on the bed and I ignore him, or if he is really persistent I gently push him off the bed, at which point he takes the hint. He may jump on the bed early in the morning, but it's to cuddle up and sleep beside me.

11. Do you agree with "distance/absence makes the heart grow fonder?" In small doses, yes. In larger doses "absence makes the heart go wander."

12. Have you ever been to Mexico? Yes.

13. Do you have a bad temper? A quick temper, yes. But I don't stay mad long.

14. When was the last time it stormed where you live? It really only storms in the latter part of summer here in Phoenix. Maybe last August?

15. Do you ever fact-check the things you read on the Internet? All the time. Frequently the BS is so deep I don't need to.

16. How long would it take you to walk to the nearest store? Ten minutes, if I survived. It's across two multi-lane major streets, and being a pedestrian in Phoenix is not a safe occupation. It takes just as long to drive there, but it's far safer.

17. What five words best describe your mother's personality? Smart, worrying, good-humored, proud, energetic.

18. Do you know any transgender people? Yep.

19. What's your dream job? Being a writer, but I wasn't really good enough at it.

20. How old were you when you got your first smartphone? The question is "how old will I be?" Don't have one and don't need one, yet.

21. Have you ever had a parrot sit on your shoulder? Having seen the inside of a parrot cage, I really never wanted one on my shoulder.

22. In the morning, do you eat breakfast first or brush your teeth first? I don't eat breakfast.

23. What's something you've had to learn the hard way? I can't remember, I'm sure there were a number of things.

24. What sort of window coverings do you have in your living room? Blinds.

25. Has anyone in your life treated you abusively? Not for long.

26. What's the weather like right now? It's daytime in Phoenix in May; it's bright and sunny.

27. How long has it been since your last breakup? Long, long ago.

28. Can you concentrate well while listening to music, or do you find it distracting? Classical instrumental music is fine. Pop music or opera is unbearably distracting.

29. What's the name of the amusement park closest to your home? I don't know. There is a Westworld on the other side of town, but I think it's not like amusement parks in other places. It's just too hot in the summer here for that kind of thing. There is a water park somewhere in town, but again no amusement park rides.

30. Do you like the Rolling Stones? No.

31. What was the last single item you spent more than $100 on? Not counting bills, I think it was this computer.

32. Is there anything you've been struggling with lately? Sleeplessness. See next question.

33. What was the last caffeinated drink you had? Dr. Pepper. Caffeine and I don't do well together.
