and cleared out of town.

After 20 years of living in the Phoenix area, I've moved to Tucson to be closer to family again. Just got my internet working again after a few days away. Already had folks e-mailing 'Where are you?'

This move has been pretty rough. Lots of tight deadlines and no real help this time. I'm not nearly unpacked after two days. It's a good thing this will probably be my last house to house move.

Tucson is higher in elevation by about 1000 ft (about 300 meters) than Phoenix. My barometer was reading stormy weather in the bright sunshine till I adjusted it. The mountains are prettier here. There is skiing on the highest one nearby, Mt. Lemmon, (9157 feet high, about 3000 meters) though they tell me the snow depth this weekend is rare for this late in March. It's usually a few degrees cooler here, and the house was cold at night till I got the gas turned on this morning. It's still Sonoran Desert and there still is a saguaro in my new yard. But many of the cacti I grew in Phoenix can't stand the colder winters here. I hope the new owner up there will enjoy the garden I left.
