It's getting to be routine. My bank branch interior is closed most of the time, but all I need is the ATM which is available after 9:30 a.m. It's later than I like to start. It get's hot early these days. But I only need cash every couple of weeks. I only go to the grocery store close to the bank when I'm getting cash. It's a bigger store than the one closer to my house, but not a lot better.
I read a book this week that I've had for a long time. Someone gave it to me for my birthday, and I finally got around to reading it. It's history, and controversial subject matter. I think it was someone's dissertation; more text in the footnotes than in the body of the text. I didn't like reading it. About half way through I decided to give the book away once I was done with it. I did finish it and will give it away. I can't imagine wanting to read it again. Who knows what will happen to all my books once I'm gone. It's best to keep the total down, especially books even I don't have any use for anymore.
Life goes on. I was getting to thinking I should call my oldest niece to check in. She called me first. The first time she called, I must have been listening to something loud on YouTube because I missed the call and didn't see the answering machine had caught something till the next day. And that day she usually works... She called again the day after that and we chatted for awhile. Her sister has become a grandmother and is on her way to Nebraska to see the baby. The third sister has moved well away from town to a ranch this summer, but is still commuting to her job in town. It must be a good three hours on the road a day. The traffic shouldn't be too bad, it's just a long way.
