Two kinds of Parodia today, South American cacti
The Parodia are nice and easy to grow and usually flower nicely, but Phoenix is too hot for many of the species during the summer. Both of these stand the summer well, although the warasii needs protection a few nights each winter. The spines on both are soft. The warasii can grow to be about half a meter high. The magnifica only gets about half that size but as you can see has fancier flowers and sometimes grows in nice clumps.
