Finished 5 of 8 yesterday which was much better than the 2 of 8 on first Saturday last year. [ETA, I just checked last year's entries. It was the Sweet-16 not the first Saturday that was so bad for me last year. I guess the old memory is about shot. ;o)] But then I still had the tournament winner last year. With the evening games yesterday, I'm now at 97.8% and #103,809 out of the ESPN hordes [enjoying it while it lasts]. Can't say too much bad about my failed guesses for yesterday. KU just had a bad half against team that was more prepared.

Northern Iowa, by the way, is my alma mater's personal version of Miami of Ohio, as in "Cradle of Coaches." The man who the football field is named after and the most successful basketball coach both played at Missouri, then became head coaches at Northern Iowa and moved straight from there to be head coaches at Missouri.

Just to show Mizzou fans aren't completely heartless, I do feel for the person in [livejournal.com profile] dlgood's LJ Challenge, who may well win our little group, but saw her beloved Jayhawks implode.

Yeah. And I'm sad my team's season ended before we could play UNI... guh.

Not a bad effort though.

I knew my Tigers had reached the end of their rope, and didn't pick them. But, I would appreciate it if the Buckeyes would last one more game.

I don't know how much of Maryland's game you saw. They were not great defensively or offensively for long stretches and got dominated on the glass. Given the matchup, and the miraculous recovery it took to even get the lead (and why they took the shot and left Michigan State the ball with so much time left I don't know...) it's not that bad a loss. OTOH, with Kansas out of the way and having so many seniors, it really stings.

Ohio State, OTOH, is in pretty good shape now.
