If we're still in a drought here in Phoenix, it's taken a very big hit this fall. It's rained at least every other weekend. This weekend it's been rainy all weekend, which is the first time that's happened in the five years I've lived here. It's still raining today. We really don't need any more rain here in town for awhile, but it would be nice if it would keep snowing in the mountains to the north and east where a lot of the water for the city comes. The funny thing is that it's rained enough lately that you hear people say that folks around here have figured out how to drive in it (fewer accidents and what-not).

To Masq- It sounds like you're going to be in Phoenix for quite a while. If you'd like, we could meet some other time besides the 'big meeting.' I'm not a big fan of driving at night, but there is plenty to do during the day. We could go to a movie or a museum, the zoo or the botanical garden. ( If you'd want to do something Sunday, the day after Christmas, we could even invite Cheryl to come with us. She's more interesting than I am!)

More than one meeting is cool. Other than spending time with my family, my Christmas vacation usually consists of sitting around reading, writing, watching cable TV, and going to the movies. It's just a chance for me to get away from it all.

Let's play it by ear if we can, because I'm not sure what activities my family will want to do, either.
