I spent yesterday afternoon in Tucson with the family. No boxing matches for Boxing Day, but plenty of group games. It's nice now that the grand nieces and nephews are older and everyone can enjoy the same things. Going to Tucson is the only time when I wish I lived over where Masq does. I could have saved an hour of driving yesterday, if I did.

I've been reading Alison Weir's latest book on British history, this one on Mary Boleyn, Anne's less famous sister. Weir's last couple books have been less readable and more like long scholarly articles. In this one she spent a chapter discussing the debate of whether Mary was older or younger than Anne, which I don't think has been much of a debate for the last 50 years. The next chapter is mostly a discussion of the different opinions how many times she slept around in the French court including with King Francois of France. Definitely worthy of scholarly note but hard to plow through. The book is a reasonable continuation of her study of Anne Boleyn in her book before this one. But I do hope she will start telling me something about Mary and stop worrying quite so much about what every last person since the 16th century thought of her.

In the world of football follies, I understand that the dressed up Missouri Tiger mascot accidentally broke the Independence Bowl trophy before the game yesterday. Fortunately they had a spare. ;o)
