Cactus Watcher Strikes Again

The more episodes that I see, the more I keep thinking that on some level the showrunners are creating an homage to Buffy. The writers regularly wink at the audience, but the actors never do-- they play the roles exactly as if the absurd things that happen to them are real, as if the universe they're in was real. The remaining requirement is that the actors be decent at their craft, which is certainly the case here. So we believe, even though we know the premise is absurd.
