Malkovich as Blackbeard has a gray beard. Not much of a spoiler to say Blackbeard is trying to murder just about everyone who isn't in his very large gang. And they in turn are trying to kill him. The show is extremely violent, loaded with intrigue and more than a tad confusing. After the first show you don't know much about the central character, Tom Lowe, really not enough to know whether he's a hero or just a hit man. If really nasty pirates are your thing it might be worth a look.
