We're not easing into summer. Ten days ago my furnace ran in the morning. This past Monday the temperature hit 90 F (32 C) for the first time this year. Today it's supposed to be over 100 F (about 38 C). Not surprisingly, I hear movement outside in the neighborhood this morning. By noon it will be very quiet.

I called my niece yesterday to thank her. She has been leaving citrus fruit from the trees in her yard and other things on my doorstep on Fridays. Last Friday it was a few lemons and sprigs of mint to make minty lemonade. It's surprisingly refreshing. She found out everyone at my sister's care facility was tested for the virus a few days ago, and none of the residents or staff had it. Though we obviously can't visit, it's comforting to know it's all okay there, so far.
