Signatures

I don't know about you, but I find some signatures amusing. I guess since he's been dead for over two decades it's okay to say that my grad school advisor's name was Kenneth E. Naylor. His signature which he signed on many of my official papers looked exactly like "Keith E. Ugly"

Donald Trump's signature is illegible and looks like a six-year-old's drawing of saw teeth. I found out today that Joseph R. Biden Junior's signature looks like "1. R Sea Z"

One annoying trend of recent times (for me, anyway) is the increasing proliferation of these electronic tablets that you use to sign off on, like in a doctors office. I just signed one of these at the vaccine center, and 1) the field size of the signing area is way too small and 2) they want you to use your finger instead of a stylus to do the signing. No matter how careful I try to be, the result looks like the chicken scratching of a chicken on LSD. How could this ever possibly hold up in any legal fashion, should something ever come to that?

On the Trump sig? Perhaps he once had a more legible one, but noticed that doctor's sigs were almost always these wild, seemingly meaningless scribbles, and seeing that doctors are generally wealthy and successful, and therefore "WINNERS!!", he should sign that way too!

Our home and auto repair people have those tablets. I try to write small with my finger, but my short signature never fits. They don't seem to care. Losing styluses would be a problem, but as you say it's hard to imagine finger scrawls would hold up legally.
