my father's people warn us to make sure we don't get to close to deer (don't ever touch them, etc.).. he was Lenape and they believe that deer literally help us cross over when we die...
Clearly the deer has good taste in music. I also liked the comment from one poster who suggested if the musician played a medieval tune, she might summon a unicorn!
I didn't see that post, but I thought the same thing: Is this the source of the unicorn and maiden legend, a girl by herself playing some little harp, and a curious deer timidly approaching to figure out what the noise is. Seen against the trees in the background this doe sometimes seems to have a horn or two!
