The Hualapai tribe of Northern Arizona lives isolated on the Grand Canyon. So isolated that the major source of income for the tribe is over-charging tourists. Here's an article on the latest scheme http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/0307biz-skywalk0307.html. (You will probably have to sign in to see this. But the process not too painful or intrusive.) Once the walkway is out over the edge, there will be a large restaurant/ gift shop built onto the anchor side. Getting to this spot over bad roads and by way of dealing with the tribes restrictions will be another challenge.

There's a stupid truck commercial on right now, where the simultaneously test its acceleration and the power of its "massive, four-wheel disk brakes" by sending it off on a road built with a sheer drop at the end, over a canyon.

I change the channel every time it comes on. I doubt that the ending is going to change, but I don't want to see it, nevertheless.

;o)

I saw a piece on this on a Discovery channel show, Daily Planet, a couple of months ago. Fascinating, but I don't know that I'd want to be the first person to walk out there!
