Cacti can be tricky critters. When I took the pictures for yesterday, I walked around looking at the others with buds and decided this one was not going to bloom for a day or two. A few hours later working in the yard I checked again and it was blooming. This one is a cousin of those yesterday. As you can see the flower is very similar. The plant however looks quite different, many fewer ribs, no tangle of spines and debris. For me that means I had to put it in a shadier spot. For the plant it means its flower can open wider.
