Today we have a little one, and a few dark ones.
The little one is very little! This is about three times life size. The cactus is about full grown. My camera can't get any closer, but the little pink spot at the very top is a flower! This is one of the smallest cacti that grows in Arizona, and I don't remember seeing a smaller flower. I don't know what polinates it, but it's far too small for a bee to bother with!
Epithelantha micromeris (Button Cactus)
This one is a giant by comparison, a whopping 8" tall. I like the long wildly curving spines and the deep reddish-brown flowers. (the yellow on the background is petals from the yellow blooming bush I showed awhile back.)
Sclerocactus uncinatus
