I've had this cluster of plants for about three years. This is the first time it's bloomed.

I'm a little disappointed in the color of the flowers in real life. But they don't look bad at all in the picture. The plant is a genuine native of the area. I've seen a lot of them in the park at the base of the mountains to the west of me. I suspect they were all over the Valley floor before O'odham and Anglo farmers cleared it.
