Here's one that is not too grandiose.
Both of my Gymnocalycium have bloomed this week. The one in the yard is somewhat overpowered by its surroundings, so here is the one in a bowl. Some of this genus of cacti can get fairly large. But this one which is around 4 inches across and is about as big as they get in nature. This shows how many cactus both have seeds and spread through offshoots. This one has a ring of little ones that goes all the way around the base. The body of the cactus gets red in the winter from the chill and red in the summer from the sun. The new growth is most often green. The stem of the flower is maroon. If the flower is pollinated the fruit will be blue!
