The skies had a good cry last evening, so for the first time in a while it's mostly clear this morning like it usually is. It rained at my place about 7:00 pm. It was gentle and I didn't even know it had rained till I looked out. No gully-washer, just enough that I don't need to water at least a couple days. There was a full, half-circle rainbow off to the east as the sun set. Just too big to get a good picture of.

Bridge collapses, like the one in Minneapolis yesterday, are something that really scare me. Back in St. Louis there were bridges everywhere. The old ones built in the 1920s and 1930s were immensely strong. The ones built in the 1960s like the one that fell yesterday were not built to last forever. My father who helped build highways in Kansas in his twenties, warned me about the bridges being built in the 1960s for the interstate highways. Strong enough for the traffic, but not overbuilt to have a huge margin of safety, and not built to last.

Re: OT

Tomorrow would be good for lunch. I think between storms and traffic, dinner would be out this time of year except on Saturday and Sunday. (At least till you can move a little closer.)

Assuming lunch tomorrow, where? (I'll be happy to drive over there this time if you'll give me a place.) And how about 11:00?

I will probably be out of touch till mid-afternoon today, but I will check back then.

Re: OT

Tomorrow at 11 is fine. I don't really have a location to suggest, though.

Re: OT

Ok. I see in the phone book that there is a Del Taco and a My Big Fat Greek Restaurant near the Superstition Springs Center at Southern Ave. and Power Road. I don't know where either is in relation to the mall, but according to their addresses they should be close together. We could meet at one of those places or we could meet in the Borders in the mall and find one of them or something else together. The Borders appears to be in the center of the mall on the lower level. The shopping center has its own website, if you want to check.

Del Taco, 6451 E Southern Ave.
My Big Fat Greek Restaurant, 6447 E Southern Ave. (There is a website for this place as well)
