I hope Dlgood's not an Orioles fan.
Talk about blowing a lead. Trailing by 3-0, the last place Texas Rangers scored 30 runs in 6 innings. In Baltimore! The interesting thing about the box score is that it wasn't a particularly long game. The second game of the double header was longer. Can you imagine sitting through a second game after that? Oh yeah, the Orioles blew the second game in the eighth inning 9-7.

Heh. Makes me glad I'm not still living in Maryland. The day-after talk would never stop!

I was as a youngster - back when they were the only game in town, when we had Cal to idolize, and before Peter Angelos beat the joy out of it. Now I follow that team we stole from Montreal.

So last night's game was quite the conversation topic today. It was pretty hilarious. What amazes me - looking at the box score - is that neither team really emptied the bench as one might normally expect. Just four Baltimore pitchers and nary a backup catcher on the mound.

Oh, and in the time it took me to type this, I think the Rangers scored three more. It was like watching Beer League softball...

I turned to the Orioles to some degree after we lost the Senators...to Texas, where they became the Rangers. I'm not sure if that's better or worse than growing up without a team! Having "my" former team belong to Bush made it that much harder to take. But the players I knew in the old days have long since retired ("Hondo" is even someone else's nickname now), so it's not the same. Gotta feel for the Orioles, though...ouch.
