I'm surprised no one has mentioned the show "Moonlight" yet. Broody vampire detective with a conscience. Hot blonde helper... I just caught the 2nd ep. more or less by accident. It's actually pretty good.
Ah, well, there you go, you see. The first episode wasn't all that great. At least, I didn't think so. I'm a fan of Jason Dohring, who plays the older vampire, Jakob? But he was just being silly in this.
And the whole..."Vampire is attracted to the woman whose life he saved when she was a little girl..." thing kinda squicked me.
Plus, what's with this running around in the daylight? Keeping to the shade, sure, but still. Way to ruin a whole cultural mythos, lol!
Maybe I'll give it another try next week. I'm actually praying for a few more shows to strike out so I'll have one or two nights a week off. I've got tons of Wiccan homework to do, and not much time to do it in. Fall TV schedule is taking over my life!
It does sound like I was lucky I missed the first episode! In this ep he looked more like he was looking out for her for reasons of conscience than being attracted to her, though I don't doubt the later would occur eventually. Once they got into the ep, it was clear they were going for a more "Dracula-novel" type vampire, one who could walk around in the daytime and wasn't actually killed by stakes. Darn those Johnny-come-lately silent-movie vampires that got it all wrong! LOL!
There are a certainly bunch of interesting shows, but I think I can cut back on a few. I'm about to give up on Bionic Woman, for instance. I like it better than some folks are liking it. But I don't need to watch TV all evening every evening any more, either.
