Up until Randy got mad at Gonzo for dropping a fly ball a few days ago, I didn't think there would be any chance he'd get traded. I still think it's a bad idea. A lot of fans go just to see him pitch. Can the team as a business really afford not to have him the rest of this year and next year as well? I'm sort of resigned to Finley being traded. Even if it doesn't happen, I doubt he'll be re-signed here. It would be a shock if they'd try to trade Gonzo, but I think even that is possible. The only other player of real value they have is Bautista and he can't seem to stay healthy. I wouldn't miss Hillenbrand, but I can't see them getting much for him. Cintron like Lyle Overbay last year, probably needs a change of scenery. Overbay seemed to be half trying last year, and this year he's pretty good. If the D'backs get a reasonable offer for Cintron, it would probably be best both for him and the team.

This whole trading Randy Johnson business is pretty weird. I can't believe all the things I've been reading about the past couple of days. The latest is that Johnson and Schilling are feuding. Oh, wait. No, they're not. Their pals. They golfed together at the All Star Game. Their wives sat together. Oh, wait, RJ said he changed his phone number to avoid Schilling's calls. Sheesh! Hopefully that was just RJ's sense of humor and something taken out of context.

At this point I wouldn't blame RJ for wanting to leave. But I think it would be a big mistake for the Dbacks to trade him. Didn't they learn anything after last year's trades? And Finley. He's my favorite player so I'm trying to prepare for the worst. Again, big mistake if they trade him IMO.

I haven't heard anything about trading Gonzo. I did hear, though, that if they do trade Johnson and Fins, that Gonzo will get the surgery he needs now, since the season is effectively over once they're gone. At least that way, Gonzo should be done with rehab and ready to play by spring training.

I hear you about Bautista. I really like him, but he has been injured a lot. Cintron I'm going back and forth on. He's been playing better lately - before I would have been happy to see him go. I think Chad Tracy is our best hope for the future. The others are too inconsistent.

I have a personal soft spot for Tim Olson since I found out he's from my home town - Grand Forks. But time will tell.

I'm excited to see Fetters - I've heard so much about him. Looks like he's warming up in the bullpen right now. I was at the game last night - I couldn't believe it when LA got that Grand Slam off Choate. It's like if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong.
