24 Questions Christmas quiz from [livejournal.com profile] ann1962.
1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? For the kids - paper. For adults - gift bags to reduce the mess. We use the bags over and over.

2. Real tree or artificial? When I was a kid fake green trees were hideous and the aluminum ones extremely gaudy. I couldn't stand them. Since then, the fake green ones have improved so much, I'm pleased to see them. Real trees smell great, but they can be dangerous.

3.When do you put up the tree? Personally, I don't put one up, but 10-14 days before Christmas is about right.

4. When do you take it down? Jan 2. I remove the Merry Christmas sign in my front window a day or two after Christmas.

5.Do you like eggnog? Store bought eggnogg can be pretty vile. I used to make it fresh, with ice cream or sometimes with new-fallen snow. But now it isn't safe to use the fresh eggs :o(

6.Favorite gift? Building blocks. Even in those days before Legos, I could make just about anything I could imagine. A zillion toys in one.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? No. My mother would not let one in the house when were kids. She eventually bought one though after we were grown.

8. Hardest person to buy for? Me. I've got everything. I have to help my sister buy gifts for me.

9. Easiest person to buy for? Kids. There are too many in the family for me to buy for now. But used to love to shop for the best games for my nieces and nephews. As adults, they still tell me how much they appreciated getting them.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? One of my aunts had the worst color sense. She'd buy me clothes year after year I looked awful in. My mother, her sister, would just shake her head when I opened them on Christmas morning. The aunt didn't live in the same city, so we couldn't exchange them. In high school I wore them to work because grease spots wouldn't make them look any worse

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. Although, [livejournal.com profile] wisewoman's e-card was pretty cute this year.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? It's a Wonderful Life, or the musical, Scrooge (I think that's the title) with Albert Finney. Both are tacky in their own way but lovable.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? My sister makes clothes for her grand kids so she starts in March or April. I've been known to buy something in October, if I thought it was perfect for someone.

14. Have you ever recycled a gift? Yep. I got one I didn't want, that someone else who didn't know I had one, did want. The next year they got it and were happy. In a gag gift exchange, my brother passed on the world's ugliest ash tray, which he got as a serious gift from a junk dealer!!!

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Turkey.

16.Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored, although all white lights can look dramatic

17. Favorite Christmas Song? Angels We Have Heard On High, sung by a choir. Ordinary high school choirs can give me goose bumps with that one.

18. Travel for Christmas or stay home? I've done both, both are fun.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Sure, but they already have names don't they? ;o)

20. Angel on the tree top or a Star? A star, thank you very much.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Morning. Sometimes my sister's kids get together with their families and open on Christmas Eve. Personally, I think it spoils the magic.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Christmas Carol Muzak.

23. What I love most about Christmas? Kids with eager looks at the presents they can't open yet.

24. What I love least about Christmas? The great feeling is over in one day.
