Just LJ nonsense. I listed my journal as PG-14 even though it's pretty much G, just in case I want to swear about something and LJ has another snit. On my end, mostly it reminds me to sign in every time.
LJ was sold to a Russian company. Since then things have been a bit strange. They've redone all the journals so that unless you choose that anyone can read them, they are blocked to people under a certain age. Of course LJ is just taking people's word they are over 14 or whatever! LJ has deleted a few journals for risque content. For a while they weren't letting suspicious sounding interests show on on the info page, anything they thought they might conceivably be sued over, ever. The fan-fic fans, especially, the one's who like half-pr0n are very much up in arms. LJ was about to let readers see the names people had chosen for their filtered friends groups. They had to back off of it when they got tons of complaints that people would be comparing who was in what group with which posters, causing hard feelings, etc. The latest thing was that LJ quit offering new free accounts with no advertising. Not a big deal since the old ones remain the same. But they gave no notice it was going to happen. People are fearful of more drastic changes without warning in future.
