On to the next list of things to do.

It was a nice visit with family, but I think everyone was exhausted by the end of the weekend. The wedding, which fortunately I did not need to attend, was described as "creepy" by all the adults reporting back to us. Apparently the bride is a major Right-to-Life activist, and had to have a gushingly over-the-top religious ceremony befitting her status. The atmosphere was described by the more down-to-earth Catholics as Catholicism the Musical (ETA - more Phantom of the Opera crossed with Oklahoma! than High Mass). Apparently the priest made a major gaff in trying to express to the couple that their love would grow over time, suggesting that they should "love each other the least on their wedding day." My nephew's three-year-old, spoke up about two hours into the ceremony and started asking where, Buffy, my sister's dog was. Apparently with less embarrassment than relief her mother shepherded the little girl to another room.

.................................................................

On a more serious note, I have been thinking this morning about our friends [livejournal.com profile] c_mantix and [livejournal.com profile] wisewoman, and hope both of them know I'm wishing the best for them.
