About a month and a half ago I mentioned that I had to dig up a piece of my irrigation system from under a bush because the original landscapers carelessly buried the piece the water drips from. Well, this week it happened again under the hedges. This time the buried dripper did fine until it was trapped in the growing root system which eventually broke it. I was really afraid I was going to have to remove the whole plant this time because I couldn't find it. That basically would have destroyed the hedge. Fortunately I set this morning aside and started at it when I was feeling fresh. A little plant shoving so I could see what I was doing, a llittle digging around the base, a little water-on testing, and the bad spot revealed itself with a big squirt. Some more digging and I could reach the broken dripper. It took two inches of tubing and a new dripper to fix it, but I have more than enough of those things left over from the last adventure. I think for one reason or another I've dealt with every dripper left in the yard since I bought the place. So I don't think I'll have any more to have to dig up.
